MrT Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Ebay is always full of new tailored mats for the Galaxy. No idea how good they are. Quote
Tigger Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 I have been looking on ebay for a full mat for a while. Have no seen one yet! I know the type you mean though! Quote
Guest rusty Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Hi For info I have a new shape Gal. Recently bought just the front set of mats (proper ones from a dealer). The holes did not line up anyway with existing mountings and were also a different type. Had to remove existing mountings and screw in new ones (supplied with mats). Easy job..... Regards Rusty Quote
Guest nimrod Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 I have one of the mats that covers the rear floor totally, it came with the car and has no labels on it so I cant tell where its from, its starting to show its age so I to am on the look out for a new one <_< there was a member selling them awhile back on the forum from France I believe? the best I can find in the UK is from the roofbox.co its a one peice moulded rubber mat that has removable caps that block off the seat mounting that are not in use Quote
Richmond Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 I have the Roofbox rubber mat to which Nimrod refers. It's very effective, although not attractive, easily removed (for hosing down) and replaced and the clip on covers for the seat mountings stop them filling up with sweet papers, leaves, mud, chewing gum, biscuit crumbs, twigs and all the other filth which my revolting children and their equally disgusting friends leave in the car. It will give you precisely 5p change out of Quote
loafersmate Posted July 15, 2004 Author Report Posted July 15, 2004 Cheers for the info, looks like I'll be spending Quote
MrT Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 I recently bought the Ford non slip rubber mats for the Galaxy. There are two mats that cost Quote
Guest Andyb Posted July 28, 2004 Report Posted July 28, 2004 I just got a set of Ebay full set for Quote
Guest fredt Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 I have the Roofbox rubber mat to which Nimrod refers. It's very effective, although not attractive............... I just bought one of the roofbox mats :D it doesnt fit very well! there's a great big gap about 2 inches + where it goes round the floor vent under the hand brake! is there a gap on yours? and if so, is it meant to be that big? on the pictures on roofbox's site it shows it going right up to the vents with no gap! seems rather pointless to me keeping it, if it doesnt fit and leaves gaps for the crap to collect so back it goes! and even worse the guy :D on the phone tried it on by trying to charging me for returning it! :D I soon put him in his place by pointing out his returns policy on his opening page :D mind you I havent got the refund yet so I should be nice about him :D back to the one piece carpet mat with the folding flaps :D problem is its starting to show its age :D and I bought the roofbox mat to replace it :D Quote
Guest fredt Posted August 14, 2004 Report Posted August 14, 2004 mind you I havent got the refund yet so I should be nice about him .................... and I'm still waiting! apparently it hasnt been returned to them :D the courior picked it up and hasnt delivered it back to them! funny thing is the day after I rang them to arrange its return and had the disscussion about their returns policy on their web site I got a copy of the reciept and a set of terms and conditions! strange that :D it wont be until monday till they are able to look through theirs goods in dept to see if my mat has made its way there and then refund me :D Quote
Guest fredt Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Just found a total coverage rear mat on ebay! now Mr Iain kirk just how high are you willing to go? :D not really Iain its the wrong colour for me :D Quote
iainkirk Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Not far from the height of my current bid, funnily enough! (so i will doubtlessly be outbid!) Anyone want to buy some Mk1 speaker grilles, only three times the Ford price? or a load cover that you can't fit (not one of Ivor's wooden ones!)? or a set of locking wheel nuts (cheap at only twice the Ford price)...I could go on... Now, what I really want is a Galaxy Fridge, but seeing as Halfrauds sell virtually the same thing without the floor mountings for Quote
Guest fredt Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Have you broadened the search to include Europe? a lot of the sellers will ship to the UK although the cost rise due to the postage! Quote
Guest fredt Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 :D and mine is non existant, but most of the stuff has pictures which we all know paint a thousand words :D SPURSTANGE-WINKELGELENK VW SHARAN FORD GALAXY SEAT ALH...........? track rod end for VW SHARAN FORD GALAXY SEAT ALH :D Quote
iainkirk Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 and my last post disappeared to where exactly????? Quote
loafersmate Posted August 17, 2004 Author Report Posted August 17, 2004 I may also be after those mats!! Ben Quote
Guest fredt Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 It may be worth our while doing a search for the gentleman who was doing the mats on the forum, IIRC he was getting them from a French super market or car spares shop? who's up for a beer and car mat run to Calais? Quote
julesanth Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 SEAT do some custom rubber mats for the rear section and for the centre section, IIRC they are designed to cover the whole area with cuts outs for the seat mountings. Quote
Richmond Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 there's a great big gap about 2 inches + where it goes round the floor vent under the hand brake! is there a gap on yours? It's a good enough (much less than 2" gap but not perfect) fit around the back of the handbrake. I believe that different versions of the Galaxy have a slightly different layout here. Quote

I believe that different versions of the Galaxy have a slightly different layout here. That maybe the case but they advertise it as one size fit all total coverage mat! which it isnt  no problem though as they have received the mat back and refunded me in full, although I havent specifically checked the bank account for it YET! Quote
Guest fredt Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 :D happy ending got a full refund :D now what can spend that money on? Quote
Guest Andyjflet Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 I think that maybe the mat leaves more room in case you have the multimedia fitted, that would explain one size fits all scenario. Quote
Guest fredt Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 I think that maybe the mat leaves more room in case you have the multimedia fitted, that would explain one size fits all scenario. But the multi media pack sits on top of the hand brake/rear vent section, and as for the hand brake section being a different size on different models, as far as I can see the only difference is the gear stick surround trim thats different, the base plate where the rear floor vent is the same part :D Quote
Guest jonc Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 I had a set of the full-length 'official' Ford mats in my last Galaxy. They cost Quote
